Link Digital’s Online Communication Workshop

By Steven De Costa | Published: 03/08/2012

Link Digital is holding an online communications workshop on Thursday 20th of September.

Details for Event:

Thursday 20th September from 9:30am-12pm (food provided)

The Inspire Centre, Building 25, University of Canberra

We’re opening the workshop to 30 attendees and are looking to tailor the content and discussion around the needs of those working in the field of online communications.

The value of these workshops is found when sharing the ideas, insights and approaches from a variety of people. Link Digital will have at least three speakers but we’ll keep the sessions open for discussion and collaboration.

The topics for the day are as follows…

Responsive design

We’ll run through the design process we took for the Department of Human Services, considering such aspects as the tools you need for responsive design  and the underlying need you are trying to meet.

The mechanics of effective web teams

We’ll run through some of the outcomes of work undertaken for FaHCSIA to establish their 3-5 year web management plan and also highlight our own best practices for managing a large stable of client websites.

Web content management systems

As developers of our own CMS and supporters of both WordPress and Drupal we have wide ranging experience with the deployment of successful content management systems. We’ll share our thoughts on where CMS platforms are heading and provide a report back from our delegation attending DrupalCon Munich in August.

Building a social media profile

Using social media to communicate and engage with online audiences is a hot topic. Whether you are active on these channels already or still reviewing your approach, we can provide you with thoughts on how to create a consistent profile across all media for both yourself and your organisation. Note, this session is primarily about messaging and voice, not design, but will cover design to the extent that it helps with the branding of your profile.
