This small subsite looks over the last five years of the collection development and exhibitions of the National Portrait Gallery. Active links to a history of online exhibitions and portrait features provide the user with an excellent introduction to the work of the Portrait Gallery.

The Making Portraits subsite was developed for the National Portrait Gallery’s exhibition of commissioned portraiture. Over the last five years the Portrait Gallery has been active in the arts community with the commissioning of sixteen works by important Australian artists. The subsite presents each portrait, along with supplementary information and, when available, an interactive portrait
