The Link Digital team’s success hinges largely on exceptional client service, which can be seen in our strong, long-lasting relationships with clients, including the NSW Department of Planning, Industry and Environment (DPIE).
Unifying the functions from the former Planning, Environment and Industry cluster, the Department brings together specialists in urban and regional planning, natural resources, industry, environment, Aboriginal and social housing and regional New South Wales. It currently comprises six Ministers overseeing different areas of the cluster whilst sharing a common goal to maximise the long-term well-being of New South Wales.
As their trusted partner, our relationship with DPIE continues to grow and expand through multiple projects – some of which include developing IAR, SEED Portal, Citizen Science Hub and the Climate Data Portal.
The Department of Planning, Industry and Environment wanted to redesign the SEED portal for Sharing and Enabling Environmental Data that brings together state-wide environment data about land, water, plants, animals and air.
Working with another vendor for the design, the Link Digital team has successfully applied the new design to CKAN component of this complex portal. We worked on redesigning the CKAN component by adding some minor functionality in order to carry out the focus, which is to create a slicker, fresh look for the portal as well as improve accessibility to ensure all users can freely browse the data they need.
Throughout the process, we have employed the proven effective scrum methodology. We also ensured the parts that require to be up-to-date with other components and can be edited via Drupal CMS are kept abreast. All of these components are synced and cached by CKAN.
