Link Digital are joint winners of round three of the Digital Canberra Challenge.
Our winning entry involved the design and development of the Data First Media Platform (DFMP). Winners were announced on 23 April 2015.
The DFMP is essentially a Public Video and Image Library that allows Canberra to bring together the video and image assets of Government, local organisations and the general public in a visual and machine readable platform, providing multiple integration points for further innovation.
Link’s involvement in the competition was a natural step given our ongoing interest in the open data movement.
Open data is the most exciting emerging concept in the contemporary online space. It’s about enabling access to useful, quality data that can be shared with the public, without restriction. With this in mind Link established a whole of government image and video library which can be used not only by ACT Government employees but the private sector and the public.

The Digital Canberra Challenge is an ACT Government initiative aimed at improving public services and supporting the ACT’s flourishing digital industry sector. Link shared the podium with APositive who responded to the public art challenge with an initiative for the arboretum.
