After a busy year, Link Digital is finishing 2023 on a particularly high note, with the announcement that data management and open knowledge leader Paul Walsh will join our team in mid-January 2024, as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and Head of Europe.
Walsh brings extensive experience and knowledge in open data technology, having previously been Chief Executive Officer of Datopian, and CTO of the not for profit Open Knowledge Foundation. His expertise in and passion for open data and technology strategy makes him an ideal fit for Link Digital. Walsh’s arrival will strengthen our technological and client facing capabilities, our interaction with the open data ecosystem, and reinforce our ongoing commitment to the Comprehensive Knowledge Archive Network, of which we are a co-steward.
Link Digital is a trusted global digital service company that uses open source technology to unlock the power of data and solve real world problems. We are in Australia, the Philippines, Vietnam, and Ukraine, and recently incorporated a subsidiary entity in Canada, Datashades Inc trading as Link Digital Canada. Indeed, this week our Chairman Steven De Costa will deliver the keynote at the Canadian Open Data Summit on the theme of ‘The Architecture of Trust: Open and Honest Data’. De Costa will also be holding an Executive Briefing that will make the case for a Policy-to-Practice Accelerator Program tailored for government teams.
For some time now we have been keen to expand our influence and commitment to leading-edge solutions in data management to Europe and are looking forward to leveraging Walsh’s considerable experience to that end. We will share more details as we approach Walsh’s official start date. His appointment, along with developments such as our Policy-to-Practice Accelerator Program, all promise to make 2024 an exciting year in Link Digital’s development.
