At the beginning of September, Link Digital, represented by our Lead Architect ANZ, Shane Davis, delivered a speech at the Canberra Infracoders Meetup covering the opportunities and availability  of AWS OpsWorks.

Started with the development history of Cloud Computing, Shane outlined its basic operating principles and benefits. Being a next stage of computer technology evolution, Cloud is not only a scalable, high-security, and high-efficiency service but also a cost-effective one.

Cloud based computing successfully supports such business models as Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS) and Software as Service (SaaS).

It is perfect for developing open data portals, since collaboration in a cloud environment makes the communication and sharing processes much easier and faster.

Being a veteran developer of government open data portals, using PaaS approach, Link Digital, is a regular user of AWS OpsWorks.

AWS OpsWorks is a cloud based application management of high flexibility which makes it easy to deploy all sorts of applications regardless of its size and complexity.

OpsWorks allows to spawn and tear down instances in no time and effort, granting as much storage as needed. And most importantly, with OpsWorks it becomes much easier to manage the full application cycle including resource provisioning, configuration management, application deployment, monitoring and access control.

Cloud computing with AWS is a revolutionary step in delivering digital services that significantly reduces infrastructure complexities and provides fast and effective solutions.
