Link Digital is excited to announce the release of CKAN 2.10, the latest version of the popular open-source data portal platform. This release results from a massive collaborative effort by project contributors, introducing new features and enhancements to improve CKAN’s security and customisation capabilities. The comprehensive CHANGELOG provides a detailed list of all the changes and essential migration notes for site maintainers considering an update.

While setting up CKAN can be challenging, Brett Jones, one of our DevOps Engineers and a CKAN contributor, created a series of step-by-step installation videos available on Link Digital’s YouTube channel. These videos guide users through each stage of the installation process, simplifying the process and helping users to set up CKAN rapidly and effectively.

Brett covers everything from installing CKAN on Ubuntu 22.04 to setting it up on Mac OS BigSur. He also provides instructions on how to set up two critical CKAN features: DataStore and DataPusher. These features are essential for users to manage their data and make it accessible to the public.
